(Prague/Czech republic) On 3rd of March israeli theatre ennsemble Clipa will arrive in Prague on behalf of Teatr Novogo Fronta´s 20th anniversary. Just the leading personalities of both ensembles, Dmitry Tyulpanov and Irina Andreeva met in Russia in 1991 whilst creating their common performance Češuja (Slivers) which has reached huge succes in 90´s and so, both of them became the founders of Teatr Novogo Fronta.
„After 20 years in Prague and Dimitry in Tel Aviv, we are meeting again in order to create
common project
called The Other,“ says Teatr
Novogo Fronta director Irina Andreeva and continues: „Our theatrical language is very similar, either me
and Dimitry, or the director of
project The Other Idit Herman, we all work in non-verbal, physical and visual way.“
Dmitry Tyulpanov met Irina Andreeva in St. Petersburgand both has been acting in same artistic
enviroment. After the succes of the Češuja
performance, their paths has led them to different corners of the world and both founded their own
theatre companies. In the case of
Dmitry Tyulpanov it was Clipa Theater, which he founded together with dancer and director Idit Herman
and it is settled now in Tel Aviv,
Israel. During many years of existence, Clipa has created its very own, incommutable and integral
theatrical language and poetics, which is
built on strong visuality diffusing trough every element of their performance – from costumes to set and
music.
Project The Other started to rise in november 2012 when Irina Andreeva visited Clipa Theatre in Tel Aviv –
in atmosphere of weeklong
keen-edged conflict bewteen israeli goverment and Hamás movement. Amost significantly, Irina, Dimitry
and Idith met each other on the
day of first rocket missile attack and shake their hands over the future cooperation the day the ceasefire
was signed.
Performance will be an output of mutual cooperation between twosignificant ensembles in their field. Main
theme of project The Other,
which formally promises to be a brutal grotesque, is violence and its origin in man´s mind and in mankind
and society. Another output can
be recognised in two-days-long (9th and 10th of March) workshop in Theaterhaus Mitte in Berlin, lead by
Irina Andreeva, Dimitry Tyulpanov,
Idit Herman and Achilleas Chariskos. Those interested in taking part may apply on info@tnf.cz, deadline is
on 4th of March 2013 by
midnight.
The world premier of performance The Other will take place in Prague in Teatro NoD (Dlouhá street 33,

This piece is collaboration between two significant companies in their field – the visual theatre company, Clipa Theater (Israel) and the physical theatre company, Teatr Novogo Fronta (CZ/RU).
With Unarmed Forces is a physical theater piece, based on the concept of object
manipulation.
A couple is safely enclosed from the outside world, where an endless war is raging. They are
engaged in
arguments and fights, trying to conceal the sorrow and mourning of the death of their son at war.
Their unhappily ever after is interrupted by an unexpected invasion of an army defector, that quickly
destroys all their defenses. The three launch a physical, mental and experimental attack on each other
and are pushed to total destruction and chaos, by the spirit of a war – a sad superhero in the shape of a
wounded child soldier.
The performers bravely dance into the density of human intolerance, hatred and a desire to make war, not
love.
And so, in a massive display of power loss, they compose pictures of rare beauty, that only destruction can
display, and hopelessly wraped them in brutal humor.

taking place
9th and 10th of March from 10am to 6pm in THEATERHAUS MITTE, BERLIN
The theatre is an act leaving in the moment of its appearance.
Then, it is a concentration on the meeting - right now, right here.
It is the awareness of the reason to meet.
The workshop combines the expertise of two significant theatre companies in visual and physical theatre
field.
Clipa Theater developed a unique method of exercising and experiencing Performance Art, which is
oriented less towards the perfecting of the actor’s skills than towards the actual performance on stage.
Members of TNF teach an original technique developed in the physical theatre company Teatr Novogo
Fronta. It can be called a „psychological dance“ and it balances on the boundary of the dance and acting.
The following subjects are emphasized at the workshop:
Abstract and expressionistic movement
Solo work, partner work and group work
Body, voice and rhythm
Working with objects, materials, costumes and space
Who are the leaders?
Idit Herman, Irina Andreeva, Dmitry Tyulpanov, Achilleas Chariskos
